I just picked this up. I got an incredible price because it needed some bodywork and I painted it while I was at it.

Besides collecting and gunsmithing for a hobby. I collect antiques. Anything from antique bottles to railroad lanterns to fishing rods, reels and lures. I have over a hundred old rods and more reels from the 30's, 40's and 50's. B&O Railroad lanterns, and other stuff and even old beer glasses and bottle openers. Also old kitchen stuff and even a gas stove that is very old and a 1932 Westinghouse Refrigerator. Also extensive collection of old knives and also bayonets. Much more also. Over 70 beer steins from Germany.

Great collection! It honestly feels more like a museum than just a hobby. The variety of items you've collected is truly impressive, especially those vintage rods and reels and the railroad lanterns. I love that your collecting seems to be all about history and craftsmanship rather than just sticking to one specific category. Do you prefer more towards restoring the pieces, or do you like to keep them in their original condition?

Alan I do restore or replace missing smaller parts on my antique rifles. I have also bought railroad lanterns missing the glass and the company that makes the glass is still around. I have ordered glass and installed. Also repaired a few knives with minor repairs needed. I have many parts for old reels and have bought antique reels with missing handles and had one or a bail or bail spring. Maybe a missing spool. My fishing rods I dont usually repair and keep them as is and I am picky actually on what I buy and condition of them. Today I picked up two new condition old Camp knives made in Ireland. Never know what I am going to find at flea markets.
