Had a decent day out on the Patuxent River in Maryland yesterday. Water was looking pretty murky from the rain we've had, but I was targeting some bass with asenko worm. Got there early morning, and got a couple nice hits right off the bat but only managed to land one decent 2-pounder. Lost another one—definitely felt bigger but it shook loose at the bank. Was out there solo, just enjoying the quiet and the sounds of nature. Anyone else had any luck with bass lately?

I have been going past few weekends on Gunpowder and Bush river. It seems bass are in hiding. I used some chatter baits and mainly long twister tails on jig heads. Usually I catch a few at least. Its like they dont like the heat. I saw so many thousands of baitfish all over. Just pan rock eating them up. Saw one snakehead and started to chase my lure. I tried incoming and outgoing tides and even between. I had at least several strikes but short strikes.

Went fishing for a bit casting lures along shore of gunpowder. No bass and a few short strikes. Snakeheads are holding really tight to cover and shorelines. Had two big healthy ones churn the waster behind my lure as it enticed them. They are not aggressive and simply followed my lure all the way up to me. They would stay a few inches behind and I tried stopping and start retrieve again. Even let it sink down in front of them. Also same with a frog lure.
