any go-to setups for taking my kid fishing

I'm new to fishing and thinking about taking my 5-year-old out for the first time. I've seen those kids' fishing rods at the store and thought we could give it a shot. Honestly, I don't know much about fishing gear or what bait to use. Just looking for some simple advice on what might work for a fun and easy outing. Any tips from those with little ones? Would love to hear what you all use!

Basic kids setup. Push button reel hook and bobber with a worm on it gets the job done. I take a few minutes with the kids turning over rocks and pavers to gather the worms before going.

I started my kids off with Zebco push button reels. Very simple and easy to use. My grandkids now are past that stage and use spinning reels and bait casters. Dont take them long to learn.
