Best Budget Scope for Deer Hunting Under $300

I'm looking for a budget-friendly scope for deer hunting that costs under $300. It needs to hold zero well and have good clarity for early morning hunts. What have you guys used that you trust in the field?

Cabella's has BDC scopes available for many calibers. Basic 3-9's for decent prices. The BDC reticle takes the guesswork out of Kentucky Windage.

Have you checked out the Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40? It's lightweight and the clarity is just incredible. The glass quality is something else.
