Clay shooting gun question

For those who really know clay shooting, I could use some advice. I've been running a mid-range O/U and it's served me well, but I'm curious what truly makes a noticeable difference when upgrading. Is it barrels, triggers, balance, or just fit? For regular shooters, where's the smartest place to invest?

Fit is everything. If it fits it hits. Anything else is just a constant struggle. I bought an O/U a while back that didn't quite fit. I shot 2' low on most everything. A Mossberg pump or semi with a shim or 2 just hits. A shimable stock allows you to "fit" it for pennies.

From what I've seen, fit trumps everything, bad fit makes fancy triggers useless. After that, balance and barrels matter most. So spend on proper fitting first, then upgrade parts as your shooting improves

Yea, fit's king. A gun that suits your body and stance changes everything. Triggers and barrels help, but without proper fit, you'll always be chasing shots

Exactly, man. Fit's the foundation, nail that first. Once it feels right, balance and barrels really shine. Upgrades make sense only after the gun matches you perfectly, it makes shooting way smoother
