I’ll never forget that hunt a few years back on a chilly November morning. Around 8am, I spotted this beautiful 8pt buck moving through the trees about 75 yards away. I chose to let the shot go when a doe and her two fawns wandered into the clearing just after. I spent about 20mins just watching them, enjoying their little interactions. Sure, I didn’t fill my tag that day, but that hunt turned into one of my all-time favorites. Sometimes, it’s the moments like these that mean so much more than the actual catch.
