The argument for carbon steel that people avoid

Carbon steel takes an edge quickly and gets incredibly sharp. It also shows its history through a patina which I actually like. The tradeoff is that it needs care and will rust if you ignore it. If you are willing to maintain it, it is absolutely worth considering.

carbon steel shines if you actually stay on top of maintenance but it punishes neglect fast.
