What would be our state firearm?

While I was browsing through my range logs and some local hunting stats the other night, I started thinking about what really gets the most use in Maryland. Between deer season, waterfowl hunting and defensive carry, there’s a wide array of gun that people rely on. So, if Maryland were to choose a “state firearm” based on practicality and how frequently it’s used, what platform and caliber would make the most sense and why?
